Covid-19 Important Updates (3/16/20)

Dear Clients,

These times are uncertain and unprecedented to say the very least. Evan and I want you to know that we are monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic minute by minute to ensure the safety and well being of you and your families. New information is being handed down daily and although you have most likely familiarized yourselves with the latest updates, we are making it our duty to forward the information as well.

As of today, March 16, 2020 VersaMC will be taking appointments but please take note:

First and foremost, each and every person entering our clinic will be screened and will not be seen by our physiotherapists if you have:

Travelled to anywhere outside of Canada;


Had close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19;


Had close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled anywhere outside of Canada within 14 days prior to illness onset;


Had laboratory exposure to biological material (e.g. primary clinical specimens, virus culture isolates) knows to contain COVID-19 virus;


Any symptoms whatsoever from mild cold-like symptoms to more severe influenza type symptoms.

As you know by now, the city of Calgary has declared a state of emergency closing schools and forbidding events. With these measures in place, please take note of the following changes in our clinic's practice effective immediately:

Our physiotherapist's schedules will be limited to adhere to the social distancing protocol. While we do everything we can do adhere to social distancing in the clinic we ask that our patients work with us to ensure this happens. If you have further questions or concerns prior to your treatment, we ask that you address them via email after your appointment. We will get back to you by end of business day.

Online booking will be suspended until further notice. This is to ensure we book out enough time for each patient, follow the social distancing recommendations and to sanitize thoroughly. (I will be contacting some of you this week to slightly adjust your appointment start times).

We understand the challenge of childcare and this new norm that has unfolded  but please refrain from bringing your children to your appointments with you at this time.

We understand that these new restrictions and protocols are challenging. We understand the impact all of this has on our daily lives and our schedules. Evan and I feel strongly that we have a social responsibility both personally and as a business to help prevent the spread and do our part to flatten the curve.

If you decide to cancel your appointment that is 100% OK and you absolutely will not be penalized. If you want/need exercise progressions from programs you had been previously working on, please email us and we will be thrilled to send you videos. Evan and I are currently working on some ideas to bring a service to you remotely and will keep you posted as this develops.

Lastly, we are in this together. And we are here to help in every capacity that is available. We too are juggling childcare concerns, the challenge of getting loved ones that are abroad home safe and settling into this new life for the time being.
